ASUS G53Jw, G73Jw gaming notebooks get GeForce GTX 460M

ASUS puts GeForce GTX 460M into two notebooks
PC maker ASUS has revealed two new Republic of Gamers notebooks, the 15.6-inch G53Jw and 17.3-inch G73Jw. Each is equipped with NVIDIA's new GeForceGTX 460M, which brings 1.5GB of dedicated GDDR5 RAM and DirectX 11 video support. The GPU also supports 3D gaming and is NVIDIA's most advanced for mid-size notebooks.
As such, the notebooks are 3D ready, and sport 120Hz displays. The G53 has a standard 720p display but can be optioned to a 1080p version. The G73 has a full HD screen. Compatible screens can be connected to via an HDMI 1.4 connection.
Processor choices range from Intel's 2.13GHz Core i3 all the way up to a 2.66GHz Core i7 on either model. There is space and support for up to two hard drives, with a 500GB hybrid drive available, as well as 320GB, 640GB and 750GB hard drives. A Blu-ray writer is optional, as is Bluetooth. Either notebook gets an 8-cell battery, and the smaller one tips the scales at 7.9lbs.
Pricing and release dates have not been revealed.
