Mushroom PortaBella unites four 3G modems
Mushroom Networks on Wednesday introduced a heavy duty version of its new Broadband Bonding Network Appliance, PortaBella 141. It is being touted as the first such device and can aggregate the reception of up to four wireless USB modems to get a reliable Internet connection in remote locations. The PortaBella is meant for defense and other fields where having a very redundant or fast Internet connection could be crucial.
As such, the device can withstand and operate in temperatures ranging from -4 to 158 Fahrenheit. The device can produce Internet speeds higher than 10Mbps with four USB modems, and they do not need to be from any one provider. The PortaBella can also withstand severe wind and dust, though these are less of a concern.
The ruggedized PortaBella is now available, though is not available to the public and doesn't have a price attached.
