Update gets IP-address-based smart grouping

FileWave has launched FileWave 4.1, updating its software deployment and management suite. FileWave allows IT personnel to control software and hardware in multiple-platform environments, adding or removing software from certain machines or groups of computers and keeping inventories of what software is on which machines. It can create customized install packages and apply patches or updates as needed, from a central location.

Version 4.1 adds the capability to place bandwidth limitations on clients, search across numerous file-sets for a specific file and create smart groups based on IP addresses and subnets. The new version can also generate client group memberships based on those of another system.

Company contact via an evaluation form is required for demonstration and pricing.
