HTC to out new Desire smartphones next week?

Some clues in the form of leaked MMS XML templates may reveal what HTC will unveil at a press conference scheduled for September 15 in London. According to TheUnwired, it may bring out the Desire HD and Desire Z smartphones. The new leaks confirm that both will share an 800x480 resolution for their touchscreens and that the HD will be a touch-only device.

The templates also show that the Desire Z has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and will therefore be nearly identical to the now-official T-Mobile G2. As such, this device is expected to be a version of the G2 for other markets, such as Europe. This means it would have an 800MHz processor rather than the 1GHz unit found in other top-rung Android smartphones from HTC. It will still record 720p videos, however.

Both unofficial devices are more than likely to ship preloaded with Android 2.2.
