Pentax K-5 DSLR camera leaks out


An image of an upcoming Pentax K-5 digital SLR camera has been leaked courtesy of LensTip. At the same time, alleged specs of the camera have been revealed over on PentaxForums. The key rumored specs include a 16.2-megapixel Sony Exmor CMOS sensor, weather-sealed magnesium body and the abiltity to shoot 1080p HD video at 25p or 30p.

Otherwise, the camera has a wider ISO range from 50 to 25,600, an 18-point autofocusing system and an external microphone input. There is a manual focus and four custom modes that include auto, action, portrait and night. The LCDs on both the rear and top of the camera are covered by tempered glass. A hotshoe is likewise integrated for external flash units, with initial sync speeds set at 1/180 of a second while new flashes due in the first half of 2011 will have 1/250 sync speeds. HDMI output and USB 2.0 connections are present, and the camera will sport two SDHC memory card slots. It will reportedly weigh 1.7lbs.

The camera is expected to be officially announced on September 22, and the price tag is believed to be set a $1,699 for the body only. [via PhotographyBay]
