Telus gets LG Shine Plus, Samsung Galaxy Apollo
Telus has wrapped up the week by adding two new Android phones. The LG Shine Plus is a direct take on the Ally for Verizon that, apart from switching to GSM and HSPA, opts for an all-silver color scheme. It still runs Android 2.1 and fits into the modern mid-range with a 3.2-inch 800x480 display, a five-megapixel camera with autofocus and the typical GPS, microSDHC slot and Wi-Fi.
The Shine Plus costs $70 on a three-year plan but is inexpensive at $300 contract-free.
Making its North American debut, the Samsung Galaxy Apollo is an entry touch-only Android 2.1 handset. It has a three-inch 480x320 display and a 3.2-megapixel autofocusing camera but adds small extra touches, such as Bluetooth 3.0 and a preloaded Swype keyboard layer.
Telus only lists the Galaxy Apollo as "coming soon" and doesn't have a price.
