Google gives out 600 Google TV bundles?

The Google TV release is just around the corner, as Google Zeitgeist guests in Arizona on Tuesday reportedly received a Google TV bundle that included a Sony Bravia set and equipment from Dish. The gift also reportedly included installation from Best Buy's Geek Squad, and some 600 bundles were given away. An AllThingsD source added that Havaianas flip flops were part of the package, while the entertainment on hand was provided by Cirque Du Soleil.

Google TV lets users browse the web on their TVs, with the Google search bar available overlaid atop the TV screen while their program keeps playing. A picture-in-picture mode lets users continue to watch TV while they are in the full-sized Google TV interface.

Google TV will be a software suite embedded into third party hardware devices, with Dish, Logitech and Sony so far the only ones confirmed onboard. Best Buy will sell the devices and evidently install them as well. It will control DVR functions for those whose equipment can push data to the Google TV.
