Leak indicates launch delay by two weeks

Google may be set to launch its Google TV platform on October 17. The company reportedly pushed back its launch schedule by two weeks, as the initial release appears to have been planned for October 3, according to an internal Best Buy document posted by Engadget.

Intel chief Paul Otellini recently suggested the first Google TV devices should start arriving before the end of September. It remains unclear if he may have been referring to supported devices shipping ahead of the necessary Google TV software.

The project will bring Internet features to a variety of set-top boxes and certain televisions. Using variations of Android and Chrome, users will be able to access video features along with other content such as Facebook.

The first devices will include Logitech's Revue box and several Bravia televisions.
