NW-A850 and NW-S750 feature rich and enroute

Sony has unveiled a fresh batch of Walkman players in Japan. The flagship range is the NW-A850 series, which incorporates Sony’s S-Master amp, while the mid-range is the NSW-S740 series, which incorporates most of the features of the flagship model without the amp. The NW-A850’s highlights include a 2.8-inch OLED 240x400 screen, a body just 0.3 inches thin and, earphones with digital noise cancellation.

The mid-range NW-S740, like the NW-A850 series, also gets Digital Sound Enhancement, that adds the high frequencies normally taken out during the audio file compression process, and also includes digital noise cancelling headphones. Its most outstanding feature is an additional 50 hours of battery life over the previous model.

The A850 series ships in November in Japan at the equivalent of $280 for a 16GB model, $350 for 32GB and $467 for 64GB. The S750 series ships in early October, in a wide range of colors at $163 for 8GB, $198 for 16GB and $233 for 32GB. [via Akihabaranews]
