webOS 2.0 demonstrated in video

A video demonstration of webOS 2.0 has been posted up on YouTube and embedded below that shows the new functions of the upcoming mobile software. It confirms earlier leaks that showed support for document sharing sites such as DropBox and MobileMe, among others, and a second look at Mac OS X-like card stacks and the Just Type search interface. Newly revealed is that 2007/2010 QuickOffice documents are not supported, though this could be relegated to the early build. Both MobileMe and DropBox integration are a function of QuickOffice itself rather than native to webOS.

The notification dashboard has added visual elements, and each page is a page users can flip through. A gesture tutorial is available, and the area for those is located just under the touchscreen. The dialer interface is enhanced and looks slightly different than in previous webOS versions.

Other promised improvements include enhanced HTML5 support, apps that support the Touchstone charging dock, new APIs for developers and new Javascript node functionality. [via PreCentral]
