Dish to offer Logitech's Google TV box at discount

Dish Network is lining up a plan to subsidize the Logitech Revue Google TV box for a launch later this month as a leaked presentation has likely given away the plans. The Revue is now expected to launch on September 29 for a full price of $299, but any existing Dish satellite TV customer would get it for $179 plus a $4 DVR fee. Engadget's shots also confirm a recently spied media-oriented keyboard and the interface for loading third-party Google TV apps.

Other rumors have pointed to the Google TV shipping on October 17 and contradict the leak, but the discount is likely to explain why guests at Google's Zeitgeist conference received Google TV bundles that are now known to have included half a year of free Dish service. Dish was announced from the start as a partner for Google TV, but its exact choice of equipment and strategy hasn't been defined.

Besides providing all the main features of Google TV, the Revue also works as a hub for Harmony remotes, including Android and iPhone apps, and can pull media from across the local network.

The Google TV is finally here for DISH Network. It is only $179 for the Set Top Box and comes with a $4 per monthly integration fee. It is perfect for people who are always multitasking and having to look up and down from computer to TV. Well now everything is combined into ONE! I actually work at DISH and I've had the opportunity to play around with it and I absolutely love it. I would highly recommend this to DISH subscribers!
