Toshiba UL605 and SL400 LED-lit TVs hit US

Toshiba expanded its LED-backlit TVs a second time in as many days on Thursday, this time by focusing on mainstream buyers. The UL605 series replaces the UX600 with a thinner shape despite using its edge-lit LED backlights and a 120Hz panel. Full details of the changes aren't available, but it still has a bundled USB Wi-Fi adapter for access to Vudu movies, Flickr and Picasa photos, DLNA media sharing and Facebook or Twitter social networking.

The sets come in the same 40-, 46- and 55-inch sizes and carry similar prices of $1,399, $1,699 and $2,499. All of them are available today and are already in stock at stores such as B&H.

An entry range intended for bedrooms and kitchens, the SL400, is also making its debut. All models output at 720p, but they have a USB port each for local music and photos as well as a pair of HDMI inputs with CEC support. They range in size between 19 and 32 inches with prices between $349 and $699. All SL400 models are already shipping.
