BlackBerry Storm3 shot shows larger LCD, trackpad
The upcoming BlackBerry Storm3 may have been sighted for the first time with a lone shot supplied today. The image of an engineering prototype shows not just a larger 3.7-inch screen but the addition of a trackpad; RIM has never used a trackball or trackpad on a Storm before. BerryReview was also told that it would have 8GB of storage built-in and may have Wi-Fi hotspot sharing.
As supporting evidence, the same source also showed a photo of the BlackBerry Torch with red trim, which has already been leaked out as a future AT&T release.
The Storm3 as described would be the first major overhaul to Verizon's touch BlackBerry since the original Storm launched in late 2008 and may address some of the criticisms of both the Storm and the Torch. Besides being very likely to run BlackBerry 6 and support multi-touch, it could drop the often criticized click-down SurePress screen and use a contemporary resolution instead of the the 480x360 of the Torch.
Verizon has previously launched new Storm updates between October and November.
