Verizon Fivespot release just around the corner?

Verizon's Fivespot mobile hotspot may be arriving at the carrier sometime soon, as a launch kit is arriving at retail stores. The device was originally expected to arrive at the end of August, along with some new mobile broadband plans such as a 5GB, $80 tier that should last for 30 days.

It will replace the MiFi hotspot and can share a 3G connection with up to five devices over Wi-Fi. It has international support for UMTS and HSPA networks in addition to EVDO. Pricing is yet to be revealed. [via Engadget]
