Verizon says Droid X to get Android 2.2 tomorrow

Verizon has updated its support page (PDF) for the Droid X, indicating that the much-anticipated and expected OS update will be sent out to handsets on Wednesday, September 22. The 67.6MB update is now known to include version 2.3.15 of the software. Users may be able to get it ahead of the officially scheduled release, as the Droid X's Blur interface lets users pull updates from the menu.

Android 2.2 will bring with it Flash 10.1 support, automatic updates and more screen rotation support. Otherwise, it should bring faster overall performance to the device, the ability to move apps to the SD card, using voice dial over Bluetooth handsets and remote commands from the web. The transition from 3G to Wi-Fi is also said to be smoother, with no interruptions, and users will have access to Verizon's VZ Navigator app, among other smaller enhancements. [via Droid-Life]
