Lenovo makes ThinkPad Edge 11 official
Lenovo on Tuesday brought out the smallest ever version of the ThinkPad Edge today in the ThinkPad Edge 11. The 11.6-inch ultraportable is a step up in speed from the X100e with the choice of ultra-low voltage single- or dual-core Athlons as well as Core i3 or Core i5 processors. Graphics are integrated at this size of notebook but are powerful enough to support an HDMI output.
The systems have options for 3G or WiMAX for long-range wireless and should boot faster than many other mainstream notebooks. Lenovo hasn't given out battery life claims or full specifications, but the small PC preserves the distinctive rounded design, chiclet keyboards and optional red hues of the larger Edge models.
Pricing begins at $450 with an AMD-based model and jumps to $550 for an Intel Core i3 model. It should be available immediately through business partners, but Lenovo hasn't said if it will be readily available online.
