T-Mobile's G2 handset has already arrived at certain retail stores, slightly ahead of its official launch. Although the device is not scheduled to be released until October 6, store employees have taken the opportunity to check out the new inventory.
Images posted on TmoNews show the G1 successor in the wild, with a new 3.7-inch multi-touch display and optical trackpad. A five-megapixel camera and flash can be seen on the back of the housing, which sports a brushed metal cover for the battery. The handset also features Android 2.2, HSPA+ 3G support, and an 800MHz processor.
The G2 sells for $200 with a contract, or $500 without subsidization.
