Samsung Epic 4G to get firmware update Thursday

The Samsung Epic 4G will get a software update starting on September 30 that will fix the 3G upload issues of the handsets, according to a Sprint administrator on the carrier's official forum. The update will be delivered to all Epic 4G users over the next four days, starting tomorrow, says the source. The issue involved capping the 3G upload speeds at 150Kbps, where users who got their hands on early releases of the build are now reporting uncapped 600Kbps upload speeds.

Other issues users hope get resolved include a DRM and the well-known Galaxy S GPS bug that slows down the position lock-in time. The full list of fixes is expected to be made public by Sprint on Thursday.
