AT&T outs Voicemail Viewer app for iPhone, BB

AT&T on Friday released the Voicemail Viewer app for iPhone (free, App store) and BlackBrry users, which lets them access their home phone messages with visual voicemail. U-verse Voice subscribers can view their home voicemail messages in a visual list, not unlike an e-mail inbox, allowing them to listen to them in any order as they would for the cellphone's own calls. The app will also notify users when a new voicemail is left on their home phone.

Other features of the app include the ability to delete voicemails remotely, mark messages as read on unread and forward voicemails using e-mail. Touching the visual representation of a voicemail will automatically return calls, and users can view and add contacts to their smartphone's address book from the voicemail interface.

The app works for anyone who is an existing U-verse Voice customer and doesn't increase any existing fees.
