HTC HD7 details

The HTC HD7 had yet more details spoiled today in a scoop with imagery of both the device and launch details in tow. A source with O2 Germany gave Engadget confirmation of the Windows Phone 7 device's 4.3-inch screen, 1GHz processor, five-megaipixel camera and 8GB of storage but also the presence of Dolby Mobile Sound. The feature should restore detail in music and improve its quality; there's no mention of virtual surround for movies.

In the form shown, the HD7 only has European 3G and quad-band GSM/EDGE, but earlier leaks have pointed to a T-Mobile US version.

The device may be relatively inexpensive depending on the carrier and should launch soon. Backing claims of a quick October launch, the HD7 would ship to O2 in two weeks and would cost 559 euros off-contract ($771) or 79 euros ($109) with a two-year deal. WP7 ships to the US on November 8, but AT&T is considered the initial exclusive partner and may not carry the HD7 at all, but it should have a close relative in the Mondrian.
