D255 debuts with Intel Atom N550 1.5GHz
Acer has officially launched the Aspire One D255 in the US. The netbook is one of the earliest with Intel’s new 1.5GHz Atom N550 dual-core chip and promises much faster performance than typical single-core netbooks. The system is still relatively long-lasting with as much as eight hours of battery life.
Outside of its new processor, the D255 is a typical netbook paired with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and Intel’s integrated GMA 3150 graphics and a standard 10.1-inch display. Other netbook inclusions are a 250GB hard drive and 802.11n Wi-Fi.
The Acer Aspire One D255 should be available now in red, black, brown and aquamarine colors for $330.

The Aspire One boots D255 in the default Windows boot 7 and an icon on your desktop that gives users access to the configuration manager for Android. After starting in Android, Laptop Mag first impressions not good, largely due to the lack of applications and have no access to Android Market.
