Used false names to post phony five-star reviews
neofonie's WeTab Managing Director Helmut Hoffer has resigned his post after being caught using fake identities to post positive five-star reviews of the WeTab on Amazon's German website. According to a report, the discovery was made by blogger Richard Gutjahr.
The first five-star review was posted under the pseudonym Peter Glaser, while the second was posted under the name of Claudia Kaden. According to Gutjahr, he discovered that the name Claudia Kaden was registered to Hoffer's wife and was then able to trace the Peter Glaser review back to Hoffer as well. On being caught out, Hoffer resigned and claimed that he made the posts without his former employer's knowledge.
The MeeGo-powered WeTab was due to ship on September 21, but is still not ready for pre-order according the company's website. The episode is also unlikely to impress Intel, which promoted the Atom-running WeTab at its recent Developer Forum.
