Pantech Laser due at AT&T in mid-October


AT&T on Wednesday said the Pantech Laser phone is due to arrive on its network on October 17. The device is the thinnest from the provider equipped with a QWERTY hardware keyboard, at less than 0.4 inches thick. It also sports a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen and a Drawing Commander app that lets users open messages or make calls by tracing a shape with their finger on the screen.

The Laser also offers a three-megapixel camera and a Voice Memo app that can share memos via text. AT&T services such as the cloud-based Address Book, Navigator (for $10 per month), Social Net social networking aggregator and Mobile Share media sharing app.

The handset will cost $100 after a $50 mail-in rebate on a two-year plan.
