Sony confirms Netflix PS3 streaming app coming

In the comments section of a recent entry on the official US PlayStation blog, Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein confirmed that a Netflix app is coming to US owners of the PlayStation 3 console. This will happen sometime this month, though a specific date isn't yet available, Rubenstein said. Previously, Netflix subscribers had to stream content from their PCs or order DVDs by mail.

Giddy US users should begin checking their PlayStation Stores for the app anytime now, if reports of Canadian PS3s getting it earlier than expected are any indication. Unlike US users, Canadians do not have a mail-order DVD option, with the service being exclusively a streaming one.
