Sony may have new NEX camera Oct 12

Sony may have a quick addition to its mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras in store as a business calendar lists a new model coming soon. The first 1PM entry on Sankebiz' October 12 page mentions only that "Sony unveils a new mirrorless SLR" on the same day. Other leaks haven't shown up so far.

The company only just released the NEX-3 and NEX-5 this spring as its first mirrorless models and would be making the introduction roughly three weeks after the Photokina expo in Germany, where most camera makers choose to unveil their most important models. A prototype model had been shown at the European event, but Sony is rarely prepared so quickly to show a more final version.

Other options could involve technology behind future cameras, such as a new sensor. [via 1001NoisyCameras]
