WD releases fast access My Book Live home network drive

Speeds up to 100 MBps, available in 1TB or 2TB


Western Digital has unveiled its new My Book Live home network drive that delivers transfer speeds of up to 100MBps using gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The new drive offers video streaming via its built-in DLNA media server and includes automatic back-up software for Windows machines. It is also compatible with Apple’s Time Machine.

The WD My Book Live home network drive is available in capacities of 1 TB and 2 TB and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. It is also compatible with Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard as well as DLNA/UPnP enabled devices.

It is available now, with the 1TB model priced at $170 while the 2TB version retails for $230.
