Kanex DVI and 30-inch ACD adapters attach MiniDP

Kanex today brought out a trio of display adapters to hook up older computers with Apple's newer Cinema Displays as well as newer computers to the 30-inch Cinema Display. The C247m and C247d respectively attach mini DVI and full-size DVI computers to the Mini DisplayPort jacks of either the 24- or 27-inch Cinema Displays. The two add a USB connector to pass through audio, the camera and USB functionality.

A third peripheral, the C30, works in reverse and is designed to let Mini DisplayPort Macs (or certain AMD Radeon HD 4000 cards) attach to Apple's 30-inch display and other screens that need a dual-link DVI connector. It too has USB, but primarily to power the adapter.

Only the C30 is available today and costs $99. The C247 variants ship in November and will both cost $129.

    Nice.

These will be great to allow new displays on older macs. The C30 that allows the 30" cinema display on older macs is probably not as important, as Apple already has that product available and at the same price. Why would someone order a third party adaptor that does the same thing unless it was less expensive.
