LG Optimus 7-series WP7 handsets due October 21

To coincide with Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 event going on today, LG has shown off two of its Optimus 7-series smartphones. First up is the Quantum, which was just confirmed for AT&T and will be known as the Optimus 7Q in non-US markets. The other is the Optimus 7 and has now been confirmed to arrive at Telus in Canada, America Movil in Mexico, Movistar and Vodafone in Europe and SingTel in Singapore.

The former's specs include 16GB of built-in storage space, a five-megapixel camera capable of shooting 720p videos, a 3.5-inch, 800x480 touchscreen and a 1GHz Snapdragon chip. It has a slide-out hardware QWERTY keyboard as well and will support quad-band EDGE and tri-band HSPA bands.

The Optimus 7 has a 3.8-inch 800x480 touchscreen and is just 11.5mm thick. It shares the Quantum's 5-megapixel camera and 1GHz CPU. Either will also support Play To, a DLNA-streaming feature from supported TVs, set-tops and related hardware.

The two handsets begin shipping on October 21, and the only price revealed is the $200 on-contract price for the Quantum on AT&T, which will arrive a few weeks after the November 8 debut.
