    kind of slimy

Cheeseball fine print and conflicting requirements.

"but all you have to do is answer a few quick questions here and you will be entered for a chance to win this software for FREE"

except for the "newsletter subscription required"

I don't mind the newsletter requirement, but at least be upfront and obvious about it.

None needs to be a option. Your forced to pick one currently.

    US & Canada ONLY

NOWHERE is it mentioned that this contest is US & Canada only. I completed the questions just to find out that once again the world seems to end to exist beyond US Border Patrol. Hellooooooo!!!! What about the other 194 countries there are???

    Perhaps

the contest restriction is set by Adobe thus the vitriol untoward Electronista/MacNN is uncalled for.

    dear international whiners...

sorry, national borders do exist, whether you like it or not. sovereign nations have their own rules and regs that supersede Adobe's (or any other company's) ability to do whatever they want whenever they want.

grow up. or truck on over to Ethiopia, or North Korea, or Saudi Arabia and set-up your design shop. check back in with us in a few months and let us know how it's going.

    Don't lie

While countries do matter they should have mentioned it in the blurb. But I have to assume that it's MacNN that's requiring you to get a newsletter and that should have been put in the blurb. I didn't think that they were that tacky.

    Re: US & Canada ONLY

I also find it at least a little misleading that in the contest itself, there is no mention of it being restricted to US & Canadian residents only, up until the point where you finish the questionnaire. Unfair? No, because in the banner there's a link to this page, where it is actually mentioned. I just filled in the survey before I read the rules. Misleading? A bit. Am I disappointed? h*** yes!
