Mid-range smartphone runs Android 2.2

Renders, photos and ROM sheets posted on Russian and Chinese blogs purport to show the HTC Bee, a new mid-range Android phone running "Froyo" v2.2, as well as its specifications. The Bee, which according to PocketNow.com could be headed for Alltel or its parent company Verizon in the US, uses a 528Mhz Qualcomm processor with 384MB of RAM and a five-megapixel camera with flash, but has only a 3.2-inch, 240x320 resolution screen, according to the ROM report from the same blogs.

The Bee will be positioned as a CDMA response to AT&T's HTC Aria, with similar specs. The capacitive-touchscreen phone sports a microSD card slot for expanded storage capacity and integrated GPS, and uses HTC's Sense 1.6 interface on top of the Android base. No possible release date has come forth in the leaked information so far. [via PocketNow]
