Dual function optics, plus lens flare effect
Lensbaby has introduced a new Fisheye lens for DSLR cameras, the Scout. The Fisheye lens function has a 12mm focal length and can capture a 160-degree angle of view and offers extreme close-up of shots up to as little as half and inch from the lens. Although a number of the Lensbaby lenses are movable, the Scout is a fixed dual purpose optic system. It ships with the Fisheye optic pre-installed, though this can be removed to enable a lens flare effect when pointed directly at bright light sources.
The Scout is also compatible with other lenses in the Lensbaby Optic Swap system range allowing users to combine lenses to create unique effects. It is compatible with cameras from a range of vendors including Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, and Olympus 4/3rds SLR camera lenses.
According to Lensbaby, DSLR users with full frame sensors will see a black circle around most of the image and APS-S sensor camera users will see black corners in the image.
It is available now for $250. [via Slashgear]
