Vudu boxes get same features as partner hardware

Vudu just announced it has updated its set-top boxes with software that will bring newfound features. The boxes will now have the same full streaming capabilities that HDTVs and Blu-ray players of partners do. This includes HDX movie streams, without having to wait any for them to download, as in the past. Users need to have a minimum broadband speed of 4.5Mbps, however.

Users will also get access to Twitter and Facebook, Rotten Tomatoes movie scores, as well as the New York Times and Wikipedia. Other Vudu Apps are also accessible, including Pandora, Stock Tracker, Picasa and more. Movie previews are also viewable.
