Launch expected soon

Nikon's D7000 camera has already started arriving at Best Buy locations ahead of the official launch, sources have told Nikon Rumors. The retailer is expected to begin selling the DSLRs next week, likely on October 17. The launch date falls in-line with Best Buy's estimated arrival date for pre-orders, which falls between October 17 and the 22nd.

The D7000 will serve as the successor to Nikon's D90 camera, with a 16.2-megapixel sensor and support for 1080p video recording. The housing has been upgraded to magnesium construction with weather-resistant seals.

The new camera body sells for $1,200, while an 18-105mm kit commands $1,500.
