Lifts keyboards, uses rollerbar for mouse action

Contour Design have unveiled their latest version of the RollerMouse keyboard, the RollerMouse Pro2, which features new keyboard lifters to slope keyboards into one of three different settings for maximum comfort and reduced arm and wrist strain. The new version also features leatherette wrist supports and new buttons to make operations such as copy/paste and double-clicks easier and close to the user's natural hand positioning.

The keyboard replaces the traditional mouse with a black rollerbar that allows free movement in all directions, preventing any asymetrical reaching which can lead to "mouse hand" stress or tightness and pain in the neck, shoulder or elbow regions. The design of the keyboard keeps users' elbows closer to their body, and the rollerbar prevents flexing or gripping of the hand, which is ideal for those prone to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (or to prevent development of same).

By taking the "mouse" out of one dominant hand, the Rollermouse Pro2 keyboard encourages equal use of both hands, and the new keyboard lifters can raise keyboards to an angle most comfortable for the user (or, if needed, slope the keyboard downward) in one of three positions.

"Left click" and "right click" functions can be accomplished either by pressing on the rollerbar or by using large buttons directly below it. Also in the button area are a scroll wheel and scroll lock, and user-defined buttons that can enable one-touch double-click, copy and paste.

Contour Designs offers a 30-day satisfaction-guaranteed trial of the RollerMouse Pro2, and the keyboard retails for $200. A video featuring tutorials and user testimonials is available for viewing on the web site.
