iLife and iWork on backorder at BestBuy.com

BestBuy.com is listing iLife and iWork as backordered in further evidence of an imminent refresh that is expected at Apple’s Back to Mac media event next week. This follows a listing for an iLife ’11 third-party user guide being made available for pre-order on Amazon UK’s website. Amazon.com is also listing an iLife ’11 Family Pack.

iLife ’11 is rumored to include 64-bit extensions, which will allow the programs to better utilize the system resources of all of Apple’s current generation of notebook and desktop offerings have been 64-bit capable for some time. Rumors also suggest that additional apps in the iLife suite such as iPhoto may also join iMovie in being recoded and being made available to iOS users through the iTunes App Store for download.

All is expected to be revealed at Apple’s media event October 20. [via 9TO5Mac]

    if they listened to me

we'd have a mess of upgrades in this package

    iphoto:
more social integration (and an update to the Facebook tool)
more editing tools like perhaps a teeth whitening tool (similar to the red eye)
plug in support for 3rd party editing tools etc, similar to safari extensions
direct support for burning DVDs for stand alone players without having to open another program

    imovie
ditch final cut express and update imovie to cover.
keep the current structure for those that actually like it but also add (as part of the FCE absorption) an 'advanced' face more like FCE/imovie '06
direct DVD burning with or without menus

    iweb
cleaner code including a single common image folder.
inline (or at least option) snippets
more flexibility with templates including ability to make and save your own
'advanced mode' with built in code editing and HTML5 etc support

    Garageband
ditch logic express and blend into garageband
    better loop creation

    mystery app.
ibooks, including perhaps ability to buy

but they probably won't listen to me
