WD TV Live Hub leaked out early

Media streaming and NAS, 1TB HDD, for Mac & PC


The WD TV Live Hub media center has been leaked ahead of its formal product launch. The new STB comes with 1TB of storage, 1080p video playback over HDMI 1.4, component and composite video out, and optical S/PDIF. It supports streaming media services including Netflix, Blockbuster, Pandora, and YouTube. Mac and PC compatible, it connects to networks via its gigabit Ethernet and can act as an iTunes server. It is also DLNA compliant and stream media to compatible devices.

The WD TV Live Hub media center and ships with software for Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard as well as Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. It also compatible with DLNA/UPnP enabled devices.

It will retail for $229. [via AVSForum]

    It seems nice, but why couldn't they have

    added wireless "n" to it which would make it even more useful than AppleTV. I guess you can use a USB dongle, though, if necessary.

    This is what the new ATV should have been. They need hard drives so you don't have to have a computer running to play your iTunes media.
