Dell has added a special edition to its Inspiron 15R line-up introduced this summer. The 15.6-inch Alloy Edition is unique in offering a silver, laser-etched wave design in aluminum on the exterior of the lid, along with a matching palmrest. Its technical specs are similar to other 15R models and include a choice of Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 Intel CPUs.

Users can also spec as much as 8GB of RAM, a 750GB hard drive and either integrated Intel or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics. The glossy screen has a resolution of 1366x768, and there is an HDMI and VGA ports for connecting exterior displays. Rounding off features are a 1.3-megapixel camera, three USB ports, a 7-in-1 card reader and an eSATA/USB combo port. A nine-cell battery is optional.

Despite the product page, pricing and ship dates are absent.
