First official pics, specs TBA
AMD's next generation Radeon HD 6850 and 6870 will be launched this Friday, confirming an earlier report. Expected to be followed by a 6900 model, the mid-range cards sport two DVI ports, an HDMI port, and two MiniDisplay ports. Power will be supplied by two 6-pin connectors in addition to the power supplied by the PCI Express port.
Performance is not expected to be significantly greater than an overclocked Radeon HD 5850, but they are expected to be introduced at a more competitive price. Full performance specifications can be expected on the official launch this Friday. The cards are also likely to find their way into future iMac updates as Apple already has the driver support for them.
A video of the cards in action is included below. [via ExtremeTech]

5 ports?
Wow, 5 ports for connecting monitors... now the question becomes, will it support 5 screens at the same time, or will it only do two screens and you choose your connection type?
