AT&T entices WP7 customers with month of free Zune services

AT&T chose to aggressively promote Windows Phone 7 by launching a new promo. The Entertainment Pack will give every buyer of an HTC Surround or other new Windows Phone 7 device a free month's access to a Zune Pass along with the same 10 permanent MP3s they would get that month. The pack also brings a free month of TV show downloads from U-verse Mobile and a copy of the WP7 game ilomilo.
The deal starts before WP7 even launches in the US, from October 25, and runs up to the end of the year.
As the primary partner for the launch in the US, AT&T was expected to get special bonuses but is receiving an increasing number of strong incentives from Microsoft to lure in as many subscribers as possible during the launch. Among the motivators have been free WP7 devices for some staff and high profile launches expected for New York City and other key areas. Microsoft's market share has been rapidly falling in recent months, and the reboot of its business with the new OS may be critical to staying alive in the light of record-breaking iPhone sales and additional gains by Google and RIM.
T-Mobile is also participating in launching WP7, but apart from receiving the high-profile HTC HD7 hasn't been given special treatment.
