BlackBerry App World allows online buying, sync

RIM has began allowing owners of its BlackBerry smartphones to make BlackBerry App World purchases right from the website rather than directly through their handsets. The newfound capability also lets users edit their My World accounts so it syncs with the smartphone, more like the relationship between the iPhone and iTunes.

Users will need to download a Windows installer to enable these changes, however. As of time of writing, no other OS is supported. Payment choices include PayPal, a credit card or carrier billing, if the network allows.

Apple lets users see app listings on the web but so far doesn't let users buy directly, instead steering them to the iTunes app if it's installed. [via CrackBerry]
