Compact design geared for "road warriors"
MainGear has expanded its notebook lineup with two new devices, the Clutch-13 and Clutch-15. Both models are geared for "on-the-go" individuals, with a focus on portability and light weight. The basic notebooks offer limited ports and no optical drive, however an included docking station adds VGA and DVI video outputs and several extra USB ports.
The Clutch-13 offers a 13.3-inch, 1366x768 display and integrated Intel graphics, along with a Core i3 ultra low voltage processor running at 1.2GHz. Customers can choose to add up to 8GB of memory, a 750GB hard drive, or 512GB SSD.
The Clutch-15 steps up to a 15.6-inch, 1366x768 display, while customers can choose from a range of Core i3, i5 or i7 CPUs. Integrated graphics are placed alongside a NVIDIA GeForce discrete card with 1GB of dedicated memory.
The Clutch-13 is now available for $1,099 in a basic configuration, which includes the docking station. The Clutch-15 can be purchased without a docking station, with prices starting at $899. Both options can also be upgraded with a Blu-ray docking station.
