Nokia N8 likely coming to Rogers this year

Rogers will bring the Nokia N8 flagship smartphone to its stable before 2011 rolls around, according to a leaked document from the Canadian provider. Unearthed by MobileSyrup, the text in the leaked promotional material is quick to point out this will be Canada's first 12-megapixel smartphone. Otherwise, the phone has a 3.5-inch AMOLED, a 640x360 display, a 680MHz processor and Symbian^3.

The Rogers version should still have 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded to as much as 48GB through microSDHC cards. Rounding out key specs are Wi-Fi, a 3.5 mm headset jack, Ovi services and video calling. The camera gets glass from Carl Zeiss, autofocus, a Xenon flash and 720p video recording.

While no ship dates or detailed pricing of the N8 at Rogers were revealed, it's expected to be close to the equivalent of $530CAD ($516) that it sells for in Europe without a carrier subsidy.
