HTC Speedy coming to Sprint on January 6?

A newly leaked handset from HTC is coming to Sprint early next year. The HTC Knight will apparently be called the Speedy when it arrives on January 6, which is also the first day of the annual CES show. More accurately, the case for the Knight will arrive on the sixth, but this is more than likely to accompany the phone itself.

Sources said the device will be known as the Speedy when it launches, though this isn't reflected in the leaked Sprint accessory list sheet. Leaked specs of the device include a 3.7-inch touchscreen that slides open, most likely for a keyboard but possibly a Surround-style speaker. There will also be a micro USB plug. Android will be preloaded, though whether it's 2.2 or Gingerbread isn't certain.

The phone was rumored to be out in about two weeks from other sources, though this may be with the Knight name at a different carrier. The earlier launches may be pure speculation. [via BGR]
