LG Optimus T gets official T-Mobile ship date

T-Mobile this afternoon committed to a ship date for the LG Optimus T unveiled earlier this month. The Android 2.2 phone will have an unusually low price and should cost just $30 on a contract when it ships on November 3, albeit after a $50 rebate. In T-Mobile garb, it should be similar in many ways to the Optimus S we tried at CTIA but should eventually add Wi-Fi calling.

Both the Optimus S and T are based on the original Optimus One from Europe and Korea and use 600MHz processors, a 3.2-inch 320x480 touchscreen and a 3.2-megapixel camera. Android 2.2 gets only light customization on the phone. When we tested it, we found that it was a surprisingly high-quality design with a good build, reasonably fast performance and an interface that doesn't interfere with what makes Android work.
