Powermat outs chargers for plethora of phones

Wireless charger maker Powermat made official its latest products for the iPhone 4 and HTC Evo 4G, as leaked earlier. At the same time, battery adapters for the Droid X, Bold 9700 series, Curve 8500/9300, HTC HD2 and Nokia N97.

The new products are said to be thinner than their predecessors with the electronic components reduced in size from 3.4mm to just 1.6. The adapters not only let owners wirelessly charge the batteries of their smartphones, they also act as protection in some cases. The Powermat system, including for the new cases, works by induction that requires contact with a charging plate attached to a power source.

The kits are priced at $60, except for when only a door is required, at $40. The iPhone 4 receiver case by itself, without the mat, also costs $40.
