Droid Pro to cost $300 on a contract at Verizon?
The Droid Pro for Verizon may cost as much as $300 on contract when it arrives on November 11, according to a leaked test site. Uncovered by Droid-Life, the test pages are also showing up on mobile devices such as smartphones and the iPad, with all confirming a $700 unsubsidized price tag and the same on-contract price. There is still the possibility that the handset will ship with an instant rebate of some sort.
Such a rebate would likely be in the range of $100 to put the smartphone price inline with virtually all other smartphones on the market. The new price tag may be an indication of what global roaming-capable Android phones will cost at Verizon.
The so-called BlackBerry killer sports a hardware, slide-out QWERTY keyboard in addition to a 3.1-inch, 320x480 screen. Processing is done by a 1GHz TI OMAP CPU, and Android 2.2 is preloaded.
