New PlayStation phone shots, details show thick phone

PlayStation phone gets more photos, storage detail

Yet more details of the PlayStation phone have materialized in a new leak. The design is now thought to be thick. At the 17mm estimated by Engadget, the phone would be thicker than an HTC Touch Pro2 and as thick as the PSP Go, hinting that Sony might have used its own game console as a starting point.

Some extra insight has also been given as to the possible software and storage. The Zeus codename has been confirmed by screen caps that also show the one prototype running Android 2.2. Multiple prototypes exist, the tipster said, but only some might have Gingerbread (2.3 or 3.0). At 512MB of internal memory will be built-in to hold apps and media, but one of the prototypes had an 8GB microSDHC card installed. It's not necessarily certain that the phone will have 8GB out of the box; the PSP Go already has 16GB built-in.

Earlier details had already pointed to a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and a 3.7 to 4.1-inch touchscreen. A flash-equipped camera is on the back. Much of the design will count on software, since a PlayStation-specific store should be available with Android games made to use the new phone's hardware controls.
