Samsung denies Nexus Two rumors
Samsung in a brief statement today denied rumors that it was making the Nexus Two. The company told South Korea's publication Danawa that the claim was "simply not true." The denial lended credence beliefs that Samsung's November 8 event is more likely to bring the dual-screen Continuum.
The claims fly somewhat in the face of ongoing rumors surrounding an official device, which might be called the Nexus S or something else entirely if it exists. Most talk has suggested that it would be a thinner, tapered take on the Galaxy S but with a stock version of Google's Gingerbread Android instead of Samsung's usual customizations. The design would be sold at retail stores like Carphone Warehouse instead of being limited to online sales.
A public rejection also contracts implications by HTC's Peter Chou, who in a statement in October said that it couldn't offer a Nexus device as well as Samsung, since its Korean opponent had a much larger manufacturing base.
