Fender Stratocaster Rock Band priced and dated

Fender today unwrapped details of its signature controller for Rock Band 3, the Stratocaster Guitar and Controller. The device is both a full-fledged electric guitar based on the Squier as well as a peripheral for the Harmonix game's realistic Pro Mode. Controls on the body steer both the game and the instrument's output.

The design is expensive for a game controller but very inexpensive for a real-world guitar, at $280. Fender hasn't named the supporting platforms for the Stratocaster, but pre-orders will start January 1 with the release two months later, on March 1.
