HP G62m and dv7t cater to starters

HP has quietly swung its attention over to starter notebooks with two new models that appeared unannounced on its store today. The G62m keeps the design simple with a 15.6-inch LCD and entry parts like a 2.2GHz Celeron, 3GB of RAM, Intel graphics and a 320GB hard drive. The system costs just $530 after discounts.

Also new is an updated version of the Pavilion dv7t. HP's 17.3-inch desktop replacement runs more smoothly with a 2.53GHz Core i3, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB disk but still uses Intel video to keep the base price low. Pricing for the dv7t starts at $775 after discounts.

Both models can be upgraded with faster processors, more memory and larger hard drives. Either can be ordered today. [via LogicBuy]
